The past couple of mornings have been beautiful sunshine (I’m hoping it lasts) and this smoothie bowl is ideal to have on such mornings. I love to throw a smoothie together when I’m after a quick breakfast but this recipe is excellent if you’ve got time to sit down and relax and you can add any number of toppings.
There are lots of recipes on the big old internet for smoothie bowls and any flavour combinations work. I thought I’d share this one with you as it’s my favourite…so far!
Serves 1 generously
Ingredients
For the smoothie
-1 banana
-1 1/2 cups of frozen mixed berries
-2 generous handfuls of raw shredded kale, woody stalks removed
-1 1/2 cups coconut water or milk (I used coconut water as I had some which needed to be used up)
Optional toppings
-2 Tbsp. mixed seeds
-1 Tbsp. nut butter
-handful fresh berries
-other chopped fruit
-2 Tbsp. homemade granola
How To Make
Place all the smoothie ingredients in a blender and blend until desired consistency then pour in to a bowl.
Add whichever toppings you would like, then get stuck in!
Enjoy 🙂
